Work VS Family

i think everyone will come across this path sooner or later. unless ur father is so darn rich that u do not have to worry about money or work at all.. then u will really live like the prince and princess in the story book happily ever after.. see.. even the story book also know only Prince and Princess can live happily ever after..

I am just an average guy in this world trying my best to work hard and get money to support my family. I do not have a darn rich father.. (I thank God for that! I am happy with what my parents have given me! hehe..) so now i need to pick up my own butt and work for MONEY. we can easily say that money is not important. but when come to the dinner table. no money really no talk la..

is there a job that can have the following requirement?
1. High Pay ($$$$$.$$)
2. No Stress
3. No need to travel around
4. No need to work shift
5. Flexible working hour
6. Have a lot of time for family
7. BIG Bonus every year

is this possible? if you do have a vacancy out there.. please let me know and HIRE ME!! I really need that job!

my job nature is i have to take care of the whole HOSPITAL in SARAWAK.. and Sarawak is a big piece of land. Bigger than West Malaysia. The population is not as crowded as WM. But still.. to cover Sarawak is really no joke.. i have to travel. limited flight around Sarawak. lousy road everywhere. there is no highway! what can i do?

now that i have another new member in my family. life just got more interesting. it's really not easy to take care of a small baby. if me and kim are there to take care of him then it would be alot easier. but when taking care of him alone. it's really a heavy and difficult task!

i know that family is important. but what can i do? look for another job. is it really that easy to find job in Kuching? i am so confused la.. i do not believe that there is a perfect job other there. i think now i just have to figure out another way to solve this problem. if u have any idea, please share with me. we can learn from one another.

Dear Lord,

I need Your help. Please give me wisdom to make the right decision and also show me the right direction. I want to walk in You path! Amen

i do not understand!!!

why need to do confinement?

who started this thing?

i think this is all just.... bull shit! (sorry that i have to use that word)

no shower for 1 month? come on.. you have got to be kidding me right??

no wind blowing directly? come on.. we are in Malaysia!! Bloody HOT and Humid country...

i think just these two is enough to la.. do i have to continue??

what is fullmoon?

who started this again?

we are human! we are not some kind of werewolf...

This is definitely not the same as the fullmoon party in Koh-Samui! hahaha.. I dun mind that!

I am just trying to figure out what is the theory or reason behind all these things.
I believe i am now living in a modern world. where we can all all kinds of info from google. i respect all the things my parents ask me to do. but i would love to know why! and too bad they cant give me any answer. so i am not convinced!

the best answer they can give is :"last time we also do the same!"

But that answer is not good enough for me! I need something more than that.

I will try my very best to stop all the "no logic" practice during my time. so that the next generation will not have to do that. but i will also try to find the answer first and also other method way before i do that.

Still confused!!

What is the difference??

For my this new job, i get to travel a lot. This is really good and bad thing for me la.. I really love to travel. I like to see many different thing and also experience different thing. SO far, now i have almost cover the whole Sabah only Sandakan left. Yeah~~ I think a Sabahan also do not dare to say that la.. hehe.. Sarawak will be the next la.. since i am based in Kuching and take care of the whole Sarawak Hospitals. And not forgetting Brunei and Labuan..

But now that i am married, i still love to travel just that travelling alone and leave her alone back home just do not feel so right for me. How i wish my wife can follow me around and also share n experience the same thing that i encounter. But this is not possible la with her current job position and also she is pregnant.. (make me more difficult.. leaving both mummy and baby behind..)

Now i go to airport more than i go to eat Kam Pua la. Sigh~ But the good thing is i get to fly with Malaysia Airlines. At the beginning, i thought MAS should be great la. More space, no need to fight with other people for seat, got food to eat, more relaxing, not much delay.... BUT!!!! all that is not true.. sigh~~ Mayb the fighting for seat part only la..

I have encounter many many time flight delay by MAS. They normally do not give me any reason why the flight is delayed. I asked them what happen? they just say technical problem. Weather is bad (outside is a sunny day).. I also blur la.. But the funny thing is.. MAS they do not use the word Delay.. They say RETIME!!

Can someone please tell me what is the different? I am wondering if i can ask for compensation for my time loss. Time wasted waiting in Airport.. If we all agree that Time = Money. So my time wasted in airport, they should compensate me with something la.. sigh~~ I am really mad have to wait in the airport alone for HOURS~~ waiting for my flight..

They should improve their system la. Al least AirAsia will sms u and tell u ahead of time that the flight is retimed or cancelled! So we do not have to wait in the airport like stupid fella la.. Waiting in airport is really not comfortable as all. If they have nice sofa and cossy environment then different story la. Really do not know what they are thinking and flying MAS is not cheap. They should have enough money to invest in 1 "cell phone" to sms all the customers la.. really disappointed la.

I am still not very sure what is the difference between Flight Delay and Flight Retime.

1 Malaysia

hmmmm?????????

Until today i am still wondering what is this 1 Malaysia all about. I think i understand Wawasan 2020 better than this 1 Malaysia. Ok.. I know this is not the latest news.. but i cant stop thinking about this 1 Malaysia thing la..

Things that come to mind after i heard the 1 Malaysia is...

1. Since when there is another Malaysia in this planet earth?
2. Aren't we already 1? Merdeka long time ago liaw..
3. Sabah and Sarawak still not with Malaysia meh? (if yes then will be great la.. yeah~~)
4. What is that fell trying to say here? are we part of Mongolia? (hehe..)
5. May be he is under pressure la.. so simply taruh 1 statement to make headline..

I still do not buy this 1 Malaysia thing la. I do not know about you. But i think this is F.O.C! (C=Crap) i am not trying to be politician here. i just want to point out my view la. for my understanding. there can never be 1 Malaysia. There is never one. i am a Malaysian. Born in Hospital Umum Kapit Sarawak. I am proud to be a Malaysian. I am more proud to be a Sarawakian. But when i begin to see and read and understand more thing. I am actually not a Malaysian. this is because i am a CHINESE. btw.. i am also proud to be a CHINESE! I am just a "malaysian" with a Malaysia I.C..

I do not have any benefits as compare to the rest of the tribes. i need to pay my own university fees. Everything i want, i have to pay using my own hands and sweat and tears. no help from Government. (But I got help from God la.. hehe.. ) When can i be BUMI? i am always a Non-Bumi.. can my kids be BUMI next time? What do i have to do to be a BUMI of Malaysia? i'm born here, bath in Rajang River, drink from the same water supply, eat from the same forest, play on the same mud, climb the same tree, etc. Why so different? is it my eyes a bit more sepet? then i cant be a BUMI? or is is because i have a Chinese Name?

I think this 1 Malaysia will never come true. if BUMI and Non-Bumi still exist! So my fellow friends, i just want to say we are all doing a good job in learning how to be less depended on the system. but we walk our own way and make thing happen with our own hands. (for me of course with the help of God la..)

SO... We continue to stay proud of who we are. We continue to lift our head high for NO ONE can tell us that we are second grade or second class. at times we may feel like one, people may treat us like one, but do not fear... For we know that we are the fighters! the Survivals! We are the Winners!!

Home Town!

I believe this is not something new to many of us. Where is your home town? And I’m sure many of us can just almost instantly answer that question without a doubt. But this question for me is kind of complicated. Not sure isit because I am stupid or what la. If I were to separate the two word “Home” and “Town”. Not sure will this make thing a little bit easier for me.

“Home” should be a place where we feel belong most. I actually look up the dictionary and this is one of the explanations. “Home” is the place in which one's domestic affections are centered. I simplified “Home” as where my parents are. And for the word “Town” should be a location. That’s not too difficult to understand at all. Yeah!

I guess using my small little coconut, putting the two words together should not be too difficult. I guess home town means, The “Town” that where our “Home” is. Wow… so simple after all. But the tricky part is my HOME kept moving around Towns.. so I guess that’s the problem. I do not really know where my Home town is. But I know exactly where my home is. No second thought.

I was born in a very small town called Kapit. I spend my 1st 12 years there. During that time it’s not difficult to answer where your home town is? I can just say, “Kapit!” easy easy.

Kapit Boy!!

But after that my whole family moved to Kuching city. I stayed in Kuching for the following 6 years. In another word I completed my high school time in Kuching.

Kuching Kid!!

Then whole family moved to Miri. But I went to KL to further my study.

Miri Budak!

In KL people will sure ask me where my home town is. During that time I kind of do not know how to answer that question already. Do I say Kapit? Kuching? Or Miri? After thinking to myself. I simply choose a place la. Since no one is gonna know. I just answered “Miri!” I guess that’s a bad choice because that kind of complicated the rest of my following answers. I am sure u must be confused by now. Do not worry. Just continue to read on.

After about 1 year plus in Miri, my family moved again. Yes! Again! Now the next location is Kota Kinabalu, Sabah! Further up North! May be next stop will be in Philippine.

KK, Sabah Kia!!

During that time I was still in KL. I have never been to Kota Kinabalu before. And so happen that when my family moved to KK, I just entered University. So everything kind of being reset. Meeting new friends in university and so on.. When we meet new friends, they sure would love to know where my home town is. So I just say “KK, Sabah!”. The unexpected thing is people seem to be very keen to know about KK. And they continue to ask me, “What is nice in KK?”, “Any nice food to introduce?”, “Have you climbed mount KK before?” errmmm… Thinking to myself “D@RN!!” I have never been to KK so how am I going to answer them. I wish I could turn back the time and answered “Miri”, “Kuching”, “Kapit” instead! At least I know how to answer them.

Suddenly I need to potong everyone’s steam and say, "ermm.. sorry guys, actually I am not really from KK, Sabah!" then people just silent and looked at me like one kind and thinking, "hey boy! U dunno where u r from meh? It’s not like we are asking you how to build a space ship and bring us to Jupiter!". Then I begin to explain to them about my home moving journey. Then only they understand. “Pheeew.. Lucky! They dun think I am crazy or stupid la”. On the other hand, “Mayb they do think that I am stupid!” but who cares.. hahaha…

Thank God that the home moving kind of stop in KK as of now! So now I can say my home town is in KK. Unfortunately there is another problem. That is my IC number there is a number “13”. Meaning to say I am a Sarawakian.

Lucky Number 13!

**in this picture i still look young la.. sigh~

In KL:

I would tell people that I am from KK, Sabah.

In KK:

I would tell people that I am from Sarawak. Since I am a Sarawakian.

In Overseas:

I would tell people that I am from Malaysia. KK, Sabah is where is stay.

This is really frustrating to the bones! At one stage to make things simpler I would just say I am from Borneo Island.

Mr. Borneo!!

At the moment I am working in Kuching. Every Christmas I will go back “Home” to celebrate Christmas with my parents in Sabah. Then my colleagues would ask me “DO you have any plan during the festive season?” I would normally say “I plan to go back to celebrate with my parents in Sabah.” Then they will look at me puzzled. “I thought you are Sarawakian, why u need to go back to Sabah?” And there goes another super long explanation.

Do you have any idea what is the best way for me to answer this question?

“Where is your home town?”

Life Experience - Worried? Confused? Panic?

Life is really about making decisions. From the moment you wake up, you started asking questions already with or without you yourself knowing.

Open sleepy eyes, “Yawn… What time is it?”, “Can I sleep for another 5 minutes?”

And the older you get the decision making seems to be getting more and more challenging, harder, complicated.

Boy: Which color of balloon should I get? Red or Blue?

Teen: Which sport shoes should I get? Nike or Adidas?

Older Teen: What should I do? Accountant or Engineer? Which University should I go?

Fresh Grads: Which job should I pick? Will this be good for my future?

Working Group: Is this the right job for me? Is this the right woman to be my wife?

Married: Do we keep the money in a common account or separate accounts? When is the right time to start a family? What will happen to me during economy down turn? Will I get retrenched? Can I find a job? How can I afford to pay my loans when I do not have a job? Will my wife run away because I am jobless? (hehehe…)

The above is just some simple questions that we will ask. (I know in future the questions are going to be harder and more challenging)

But 1 thing I can say is, “Do not worry and continue to put your trust in the Lord!” He will see us through and His hand is always upon us to keep us away from pain and harm. Do not look at the world because you can only see negative things here (jobless, sickness, pain, divorce, abuse, robbery, flood, forest fire...). When you look “above”, you will know that God is in control. He allows things to happen for a very special reason that only He knows.

Matthew 6:25-34 (New International Version)

Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
